What does UV coating do for your banner?

UV coating is a compound that is applied to a paper or plastic and dried with UV (ultraviolet) light. This coating provides a glossy sheen to banners and other materials, but it also provides a thick layer that keeps your advertising material lasting longer. So, what exactly is UV coating?

There are several different types of compounds used for coating. Some of those are polyethylene, calcium carbonate and kaolinite. These compounds are mixed with an adhesive to make them stick to paper or vinyl. UV coatings can vary in thickness and glossiness, but they are essentially doing the same thing for your banner.

UV coating will make the design on your banner appear richer, glossier, and more vibrant. However, more importantly, UV coating will provide an excellent protection to the material and the ink on the material. It is well known that strong sunlight can damage different materials and fabric and have the ink fade out. When a banner is UV coated, the sunlight damage will be very minimal, and your banner will last you a lot longer.

Just like anything else that is good, UV coating is also quite pricey. We won’t give you an exact price because the pricing varies in different shops and businesses, and it also depends on the quantity, size, and the type of the material that you are getting. However, it is a good investment!
