Parades originate from the times of Mesopotamia. First, they were held in the politics and military branches. Later, they spread into religion. Nowadays, parades are mostly associated with different carnivals, fairs, and festivals. In the USA and in New York City in particular, there is a range of parades dedicated to holidays, events, and people. There are nearly 12 parades, which take place at 5th Avenue in New York every year (“New York parades,” n.d.).
